What makes a good blog? What are your assets?
Two simple questions, if you can answer them you are half way through.

A blog is successful when it is seen as an authority in the topic it’s about. People look forward to read more information from it and thus gains on popularity. Now, what are the things that you have to develop in your blog to take it to the next level and make it an authority?

Content
The first thing of course is the content. If you have great content, then people will not think twice to bookmark your site/ articles. This isn’t easy. You have to give them unique and great value content to achieve this. But once you reach a point where you have enough articles to attract people as well as the search engines you may want to show off your stats to advertisers and buyers so that they can make use of your blogs popularity and you can earn some money.
Subscriber count
Subscriber count is a great factor. The more the better. But buyers and advertisers also look at the growth at which you have gained subscribers. But basically if you can make a good amount of say 1000 subscribers in about 6-10 months, that;s quite and achievement.
Incoming links
incoming links are seen as awards from other internet entities. Gaining more of them means that you have great content. So get as many incoming links as possible from good sources by writing quality sticky content and over a period of time, regularly keep on gaining them. They are something that advertisers look forward to.
A good healthy PR
Page Rank is still seen as a great asset by advertisers and buyers. Google awards PR to blogs based on their number and nature of incoming links. This happens over a period of time and you don’t have to really bother about it, to get it artificially. But making sure you have a healthy PR of at least 3 and above is a good asset.
